- Home or What's New page for recent news that effects the men of this region

The Events page has a quick Calendar list of events at the top, with more detailed information of each event below.

On the What's New page, Admins will be able to add the latest news to the site, Men's requests for support can be posted, Announcements of parties or celebrations, Regional and Division Coordinators comments, and other news worthy items.

There is more to be added soon as well. Like a document repository where men can download applications / forms. A Quick links section on the right side of the site will also allow for fast references of events, forms, and other interests of the Men of the NY Region, like YCS.

The Spierer Speedway

Men,

It appears an explanation is in order regarding the Spierer Speedway - the what and the why of it all. This is an example of the diversity of our Region, and how important communication really is. I will do my best to hold that to an even higher level for us in the future.

Most of you know Howard Spierer. He is a good man, with a great family, and has been a leader in our community for many years - RC, Point Man, developer and Lead Gel of the Legacy Discovery Event, pioneer of MDI, current VP of MDI and 24 - 36 other positions! He works in NYC and lives in rural New Jersey on a beautiful homestead overlooking a creek. His home has been the site for numerous meetings, trainings and events of every type. The site has seen many Men grow, cry, laugh and say 'fuck it' to a lot over the years. There is a steep grade to the main meeting site which is exciting to maneuver on a good day for anyone, and is a major challenge for anyone with any kind of physical limitation. The Spierer Speedway is a large ramp designed to provide safe and easier access to the site for all, and especially Spierer as he battles MS. The scope of the work has included using a bulldozer for earthwork and moving materials, as well as a lot of hand labor. This is a beautiful site to spend time and a great way to use your time to make a difference for a lot of folks, not just for one family. If you can perform any sort of physical work there is a place for you - regardless of skill level. If you are not able to be physical, there are other ways to contribute such as food prep and procurement. In other words - a spot for anyone.

Barry Arndt is driving the project - also the bulldozer - and is the one to contact to join in.
